Health Tip: Routines can be good for the body!

In a study out of Brigham Young University of 330 college age women the connection between sleep patterns and adiposity was relevant. While not a large study the results showed: "Inconsistent sleep patterns and poor sleep efficiency are related to adiposity. Consistent sleep patterns that include sufficient sleep may be important in modifying risk of excess body fat in young adult women." I speak only from experience with myself and my clients/students that routines always improve health and wellness, including weight loss and mood specifically when it comes to sleep. Besides the fact sleep allows the cells to do a lot of repairing, the melatonin in our brains that helps regulate sleep patterns is also found in the GI Track which helps regulate healthy digestion. So here's to yet another reason to prioritize your sleep time and patterns! (My opinion, if the test was done for woman in their 40s and 50s+ AND with men there would still be a risk to body fat but most likely even higher) Stay Healthy!
